About MWAM

“Please understand…I am nothing unless God be lifted up through me.”

I am the mother of three girls, grandmother of 11, great grandmother of 9. I married my high school sweetheart and we’ve been married for over 52 wonderful years.  My father was a minister, my baby brother is a senior pastor in Idaho. I have three older sisters, who also serve the Lord.  Our parents divorced when I was 11. We were raised by a single mother who taught us always to hold on to God.  She was a tremendous influence in our lives.

I have been in full time ministry for over 20 years.  In 2003, my former pastor, Ken Ross, saw something in me that God could use for His glory and was faithful and willing to help me see how I could use that gift to touch others with his heart. I felt so inadequate and undeserving. Pastor Ross told me, “God wasn’t looking for ability…He was looking for availability.”  Those words put a fire and a desire in me to “Go” wherever, whenever the Lord opened the door.

My sisters and I used to travel and sing as a trio called The Grigsby Sisters.  We still sing together every chance we get and recorded a Christmas album a couple of years ago.  I have recorded several, solo Cd’s, and written four children’s books.  My books are translated (ready for print, when God gives the green light), in four languages, and already in print in English and Spanish.

I am on the National Women’s Speakers list with the Assemblies of God, yet I minister in many different denominations, venues, etc. I have ministered for international, national, state and local events, patriotic events and more. I count it an honor and a privilege to be used by God and to be led by the Holy Spirit.

My husband and I have been invited to minister in several different countries, and have shared our children’s books with thousands of children, while also being honored to sing and speak into the lives of men and women from the far reaches of the Alaskan “Bush” to the southern end of the world in South America.

We will continue to seek out every opportunity to share Jesus until His return.

TRAVEL

Bill and I have been asked the question, ”What’s it like to be a Traveling Musicianary?” Well, I’ll do my best to answer that.

The one thing that I’ve learned about ministry is that it doesn’t begin on the platform of a church. It begins on your knees.

With the call of God on your life comes a lot of responsibility and challenges. To be able to go to different places and minister I first have to make hundreds of calls, send tons of emails, leave messages, ship packets, attend lots of conferences and refer dozens of people to my reference page on our web site.

Doors of ministry don’t just open. As Musicianaries, we have to knock on those doors. The ones God wants opened, he opens. We made a pledge to the Lord that wherever, however, whenever he opened a door, we would walk through it. Some of those doors open only at a great cost. Not just a financial cost but sometimes a sacrificial one. What I’m trying to say is that many of the doors that open are to faraway places and I often have to go alone because we live in Montana (still a remote place to fly in and out of) and my husband still has a full-time career.  Many times I will miss a birthday (even my own), an anniversary celebration with our children, a grandchild’s ballgame, ballet recital and more. We have definitely consulted the Lord on these issues and so far, we have always been able to work it out. I go with Bill’s blessing and I am so grateful to him for being such a gracious husband. Until he gets the clearance from God to leave his position and go into ministry full-time, he continues to work at his secular job and we are thankful that he has a good job today in this economy!

Another wonderful gift from the Lord has been our grown children’s support. They know the “call” is compelling and great and they have given us their full support and permission. (Isn’t it funny that when we’re older, we have to make sure we have our kids approval)?

This ministry God has given us has been a wonderful adventure! I’m so honored to play a small part in His kingdom work. After an extended jaunt away from home, I’m exhausted: spiritually and physically drained. Yet I’m ready to go again. I NEVER TIRE of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through the spoken word and song. I LOVE WORKING FOR THE LORD!

We never know where this journey will take us next or how long it will last but we are confident that God will continue to use us as long as our focus is on him and his will in our lives. Someone once said to me, “you need to slow down, you’re burning the candle at both ends.” My response to that was “well, praise God, I’ll burn a lot brighter that way!” It’s his candle and it won’t burn up until he says it’s time! Praise the Lord.
