Alaska, Here We Are

November 8, 2023

by Cissy Padgett

Dear Faithful friends of Music with a Mission:

In case you missed hearing, we have purchased a home in Soldotna, Alaska!  We will still be traveling between Montana and Alaska but for now we’ve made our home in Alaska!

While flying back up in September, the Lord gently spoke to my heart that He was “propelling us forward into His plan for us!”  We aren’t quite sure what that looks like just yet, but we TRUST HIS HEART.

The week of Thanksgiving, we will be flying into a larger Native Village, Kotzebue, AK.  It is above the Arctic Circle. We will be assisting the pastors in cooking a Thanksgiving meal for the congregants and decorating for Thanksgiving and then for Christmas.  Then Saturday evening, November 25th we will share a Christmas Concert with the people.  On Sunday morning we will be leading worship and singing a couple of special songs for them as well.  Then we fly back to Anchorage and drive home to Soldotna (about 3 hours on a good weather day) for a few days.

Then we drive back to the Anchorage area to a town called Big Lake. We will be sharing a Christmas Concert there on December 3rd.  This church has been without a pastor for over a year and another local pastor has graciously taken the church on to help them “reignite for the kingdom!”  Afterwards, we will fly to Montana for a few weeks to be with some of our family for Christmas.

We want to thank all of you for continuing to pray for us and for your faithful support over the years!  God is obviously not finished with us yet and we are excited to see what is around the next corner in ministry.  Also, please help us continue to pray for Israel.  As we see all these things unfolding, we realize Jesus’ coming is sooner than we may think!  Even so, come Lord Jesus

May the Lord continue to encourage each of you and give you hope and fill your hearts with joy during this holiday season.

With Much Love,

Bill & Cissy Padgett

Alaska June 2023

Our first stop for ministry in Alaska was Skagway. What a wonderful service we had together. Pastor Tim and Debbie Steidel are a great leadership team and are serving their community well. We really enjoyed their company and miss them already!

We started our Father’s Day on Sunday singing on the LuLuBelle Tour boat in Valdez, AK. Captain Fred, the owner, donates his time and the use of his tour boat every Sunday at 8 am for a free service to all visitors, and locals, who would like to attend a church service and still have plenty of time left in the rest of the day for sightseeing. He takes the boat out into the bay while everyone is enjoying the service and the magnificent beauty surrounding Valdez.

Then at 11 AM we shared our music ministry at the First Baptist church and thoroughly enjoyed the preaching of Pastor David Bradley.

At 2:30 we met at the local nursing home and sang for the local residents. Pastor Bradley has been going every Sunday for years. What a heart of God to share God’s Word faithfully with those who can’t make it to their local church. We loved our time here and pray people were as encouraged and as blessed as we have been.

Thank you Captain Fred and Pastor David and Cindy for extending the invitation to Music with a Mission and for being an example to us all, reminding us to love others, be generous at every turn and be HIS hand extended to all we come in contact with!

Next stop: Kotzebue, Alaska.

Happy New Year 2023

HAPPY NEW YEAR:

Well, we hope you are all doing well.  Since we sold our home in Helena life is a bit different this year. We celebrated Christmas with one of my sisters here in Florida and her family. We were invited to share our music ministry at Calvary Assembly in Kissimmee a few days before Christmas and had a wonderful service.

On January 28th we will enjoy a family reunion with Bill’s side of the family. Then a few weeks later, we will head to Texas to celebrate a belated Christmas with our oldest daughter and family and then on to Arizona where we have more services to share in as well as enjoy the company of several of our Montana friends.

On Father’s Day we have been invited to share at a Baptist Church in Valdez, Alaska so please join us in prayer for the Canadian border to remain open with no contingencies.

I know we tell you often how much we appreciate you but we want to emphasize to you how vital your prayers and your generous financial support are to the continuation of this evangelical ministry. Travel is very expensive today, yet, through folks like you, God always provides where He guides. Life is tough today with more fear and depression exposed in people‘s lives than ever before. And yet, we hold the Key, the Answer for healing from depression. HOPE and Salvation is found in Jesus Christ! God will still do this for us if we only believe. He says, “Ask according to My will and it shall be done.” This doesn’t mean we get anything we want. It means if it is God’s will to do it then it shall be done! Do you have the faith to believe today? Ask of God.

In a tent ministry meeting, the Lord dropped into Aimee Semple McPherson’s spirit the words, “I want to do a creative miracle.” Without hesitating, she declared, “God wants to do a creative miracle. If you are in need, come down here to the front!” She gave the call for about ten minutes but no one came. She then continued preaching.

Again, the Lord prompted her again, so again she gave the call for about ten minutes. Finally, a woman in a chair with a blanket on her lap came to the front. The woman said, “I know you said God wanted to do a creative miracle but I didn’t know if you meant this creative,” as she pulled away the blanket, revealing a baby without arms or legs and deformed face.

Sister Aimee prayed a simple prayer for the child that said, “Let’s all lift up our hands and worship God!” For thirty minutes they did nothing but that. Then something amazing happened: Out of its little torso, the baby’s four limbs grew out and the face changed to that of a normal baby’s.

What a wonderful Savior and Healer we serve! –revival now!

We love you and will keep you posted on our journey of reaching, encouraging and providing hope through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Be encouraged. God has a plan for America and the world!
